    I have to ask the obvious here.....but how the hell did that moron get his car stuck there in the first place? I dont see any sort of crossing in this vision. I can only assume that he thought he could drive over those raised tracks.nar.nar, not possible.what wanker would think that????...lol

  • Correct me if I'm wrong...

    I was under the impression that when a train driver is notified of an object (like a car) blocking the tracks, he should speed up. That way, it destroys whatever is in the way, and reduces the chances of a derailment (like what happened in this clip). I could be wrong. Any one know?

      If its a LARGE train.

      This was just a one car trolly type, not much bigger than a bus, probably not even as heavy as a bus. Hitting much faster would have derailed the railcar and could have put any passengers at more risk.

      But yes, yer right, most of the time, if the the engineer notices a vehicle on the tracks at the last minute, they should speed up. Of course if the train is far off and the railroad knows something is there, they will call for an all stop.
      At least the owner knew to run toward the train to avoid being pelted with debris.

    a 400 or so tonne 8 carriage double deck mi-lemon train would've been better! Or one of those freight trains - they make a loud noise even when the brakes are being applied!
