  • outdated info.

well, this does not work with my ipod and no, im not "doing something wrong". it doesn't take a genius to follow your instructions. i followed them exactly, and it stops me from going to the movie prompting me to connect the proper cord to the lower docking outlet. this leads me to believe mac is on to this little hustle and fixed it so you have to shell out 50 bucks on the actual cord. so, while this might have worked for older gen ipods, it will not work for the newer type. btw, my cord i bought strictly for this cost me effin 25 bucks at radio shack. i feel this is a touch outdated being posted in 2007. so, before you go out and buy one of these cords make sure you can return it just to be sure.

  • frustration...

great vid, but I can't seem to get mine to work! I've connected the RCA cable in loads of different combinations, all I get is a kind of black and white vertical bar across the screen.

My TV supports both PAL and NTSC, but as I'm in the UK i've made sure it's set to PAL. Any idea why it's not working? I have a 5G iPod video 30GB...please help!!

    • .

Try NTSC. Be sure your iPod is set to TV Out or ask from the Video settings. Make sure that the Red plug goes into the Yellow port and the Yellow plug goes to the Red port. When you play the movie, you should see the video only on the TV, if you see it on your iPod you are doing something wrong. Try all of that and then come back if you have problems.

I'm not sure, but don't the 3rd gen iPods play video out through the charging port at the bottom. Or do you know if they still do it through the headphone jack?

I'm not sure, but I would say off-hand that it probably couldn't. Look around, especially in your video camera case and you might find one in there. Try it out and let us know.

does it work with the zune? I have one but I dont want to go out there and buy the cable if it does not work . help mgs me

    By sths2009 1185489044
    • It might work.

I don't have a Zune, however I did do a bit of quick searching and it looks like it could work. Honestly, these cables cost about $3 at Radio Shack if you don't have one already. Most digital camcorders come with this cable, so check at home. The worst thing you could do is spend $3 bucks and find out it doesn't work.

    • Checklist.

Did you plug the red plug into the video and vice versa?

Did you set your iPod to "TV Out"?

Is you iPod in NTCS and not PAL format?

Is your TV on the proper input channel?

If it isn't working for you, I'd hate to say it, but you are doing something wrong.

  • PSP

can you do this with da psp?

    By FoXD69 1181941543
    • Doubt it.

I don't think so because the PSP is meant to display videos externally. On the iPod I talk about how you have to change the video settings to TV Out and so fourth. On the PSP, you don't even have those options...yet.
