Edison cylinder phonograph
I do believe that it was one of the very rare "records"
used on the Edison Cylinder Phonograph invented around
1877.

  The thing he was holding was one of the very first sound recordings ever made, a hundred years ago, on a wax cylinder.... What was on it? we'll never know, maybe someone long dead, singing or talking, hope he had a copy somewhere...
