    The first and most obvious problem with this film is that Bryan Singer, the director of the first two X-Men movies, left and was replaced by the vastly inferior director Brett Ratner, who brought equally untalented screenwriters with him. The acting and dialogue are very poor, and unlike in the genuinely impressive X2, the central themes and messages of this film are rarely explored, and though lot of previous characters are given bigger roles and new mutants are introduced, the limited character development keeps them from being very interesting. Also, although this is supposed to be the last film in the series, it never feels like a natural progression from the first two, and it offers no closure at the end

  • Villain: Juggernaut or Phoenix? Both or ...

    I'm not a fan of X-Men but I'm learning that the Phoenix in fact is bad. What I cannot understand is that in movie reviews I've read that the villain mutant in this 3rd part will be the one known as Juggernaut. Vinnie Jones plays this part but through the whole trailer I haven't seen him once. Will there be 2 villains or was the Juggernaut cut off?

    Well the best part about this movie is that Jean Grey is back .. now reborn as Pheonix .. this is F**king awesome ... anyone who has read the comic's knows what Pheonix is capable of .. can't wait to see this movie. Been waiting for it since i saw X2 in the cinema.

      Well in the comic's there's only one Pheonix in the univers. It lives from pure energy. Can actually eat a sun (Which it does in the comic's) Well this Pheonix has entered Jean Grey's body when she was made in her mother. Later on in the series Jean Grey gets to know the presence of this being in her. And findes out that this is the main source to her powers. But then later The Pheonix takes over her body .. eats a sun in another solar system .. and kills about 6 million ppl there .. then the xmen has to stop her because she's too drangerus now. And wolverine kills her. But later she's resureced by this Pheonix (cuz it can't really die) .. and there jean grey takes over and kills herself along with the pheonix. We actually see the presence in X-Men 2 .. when Jean uses her powers you see fire in her eyes .. that's the pheonix. Also when she saves the xmen in the end.

      In the comic's she becoms the most powerful mutant ever. Nobody can stop her.
      So its kinda exciting to see what she can do in this movie.

      Well i don't know how it is in the movies, alot has been changed from the comics to the movies to make it work better :)

      Btw Pheonix is a dragon that has died and been reborn in fire.

    For a movie to be BIG it needs a very good storyline. So far the X-Men series have improved from good to better. Apart from the spectacle (and it seems this movie will offer plenty) there is also the drama that doesn't ruin but increases richness in the characters. I praise the works of Bryan Singer, who started them, and of Brett Ratner, both movie geniuses, and all those who worked in front or behind the camera. They're all deeply dedicated people, and we can see it clearly from the clip.
