Yes so proud to say thats my team (ALL BLACKS) We have alittle country (NEW ZEALAND) but got the worlds best Rugby Union team. The HAKA is a traditional maori war dance, its to put off the opposition and hopefully win the game (sorry to say .. we thrashed Tonga)Only the men can perform this ritual.

  • missing the point

it's an ancient ritual from that part of the world, not only meant to intimidate enemies/foes, but also a sign of respect for them as worthy adversaries. they scream to bolster they own courage, get it?

  • Idiots

What point do you idiots make by arguing over sports/ nationality? What point is proven?
It never fails; post a video and somewhere someone will make a derogatory rmark about nationality or someone else's preference. COMMENT ON THE VIDEO!!!! For all your effort and wit you have shown that we live in a world eaten up with racist bigots.

Are some level headed people left on Earth, and if your hate the racist bigots you become one. Love and Pray for them. Show them how to love and they will understand, if you hate them in return you give them more self- justification.

  • Tumeke and Malie to both teams!

All Blacks have always had great players and because of this, they have provided a great team. Half of the team is polynesian mixed with Samoan, TONGAN and Fijian.
The Tongan team don't have the opportunity to have players like the All Blacks and even so they aint scared of nothing and they still Go HARD! Hence their Tongan saying "Fear no man and don't Fear Death" and that counts for something
Plus half of the Tongan team probably work as plantaion workers and still have the courage and Pride to go fourth to Represent!
    So I respect them both!
    Both are Awesome!!!

  • AFL - Union - NFL - NRL

I play AFL and Union(which is shown on the vid) and what some people call "dance" is something more than that, it's pride for your nation, pride for your team and to play for your country and fight(doesn't have to be war) earns players resept in their country and what's not a better way than sport, i'm sure war is very pointless. anyways i play AFL for club and school, each game i play i run on average 7km or 4.3miles being a center player, in union is very tough getting back up after getting hit into the ground and the play of the ball doesn't wait for you to get up. i'm not sure what NFL is like but thats the story on AFL( Australia Football) and Union

  • They are two different sports!

Comparing American Football to Rugby is like comparing apples and oranges. I am American, I played football in highschool and rugby in college. They both are gruelling sports, but I have to say that all in all, Rugby requires more strength, endurance, coordiination and overall athleticism than American football.

and btw..... THE ALL BLACKS F**kING RULE!!

  • never played but

rugby players are extremely tough. and they do get broken up a bit too. but they don't cry about it like our football players here do. For example Brett Farve, now there's a cry baby.

By dougiefresh27 1137509771 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • I beg to differ

I will concur that these players, as well as Australian Rules Football players are far tougher than the majority of American football players. But your disparaging of Brett Favre is way off-base. No one has had more consecutive starts at quarterback then he has - even with the beatings he's taken AND personal tragedies that he has bounced back from. One only needs to look at his Monday night football performance against the Raiders less than two days after his father and mentor died to see his toughness. Cry baby, not quite. You must be a Viking fan . . .

    • You can't compare the two

Im from the UK and played rugby at high school. Fantastic game....BUT!! You simply can't compare the two types. Quite simply american footballers weigh 300lbs! Even without padding a british rugby player would quite simply get crushed whether u like it or not, its like me standing in front of a car moving at speed and stating...I'll stop the car and not move an inch!

    • re

you think the guys in this video would be crushed by an american footballer? these guys are pretty well built and I don't think you can really say rugby players and american football players that play at the same level have a different built.

    • ok

I agree, i think 'georiedan' has hit the nail on the head. At the end of the day the two games are different but all the same entertaining :D.

By CrazyLegs 1137757409 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • different tackles

The difference between the two games is in the tackle. it looks like the americans hit harder coz they tackle high, but because thats above your centre of gravity, youll get absolutely creamed. the NFL players are massive and are really looking to deck each other, so hitting high means its easier to knock the other over. in rugby, the tackle's low, its easier to tackle, but you actually have to tackle harder and its a safe way of tackling, so no padding needed. you try high tackling someone in rugby, there'll be a few broken necks, that's why its a sending off offence
but rugby players are just as tough and versatile than americans, and the hits are just as hard; that Somoan up-ending England's Mark Cueto into a somersault about 9 feet in the air'll show u that. funny as hell when Moody came and took a swing at the Samoan. rugby's a yob's game played by gentleman, American Football's a load of mean bastards trying to kill each other. Rugby's still better by miles tho. ;)
And the Haka is pretty intimidating, specially if its performed by 15 stocky New Zealanders

    • RE: Different tackles

      British, but play American football

Coaches in A-ball teach their players to tackle low, not high, and the majority of players will hit low because a player can't run without their legs, so that's wrong. Why would you tackle a 250lb Running Back or Tight End high, where most of his muscle is built up?? Your comment makes no sense

By Trigga 1137764045 Reply Spam Moderate Up Moderate Down
    • RE: Different tackles

yeah but you're still allowed to tackle high right? so that makes it more dangerous. and if you tackle higher, its like a lever so its easier to push, specially if your going fast. i dunno about american football really, but from watching it it seems like the harder hits come from hitting higher, hence protection
