Camera Hero

This was in the news.

The criminal had tried robbing a bank but it had gone wrong so he took the girl (14 years old) hostage.

Cop comes in disguised as a camera guy, and this criminal is stupid as mud. Grabs the gun.

The criminal pulled the trigger but the gun didn't fire, they checked the gun after and there was a round in the chamber, criminal got charged with attempted murder.

was ronaldo when this all happened? he could have bicycle kicked the gun out of his hand before it all happened......looks like he isnt a hero after all

Yeah, its right that the camera man is a cop, and the criminal tried to rob a bank and stuff... but what you don't know is that the cop told reporters after the stand-off that he noticed the criminal's finger shy away from the trigger while he was trying to talk to the camera. That is when the cop decided it was best to grab the gun.

That camera guy is a cop, if you guys wanted to know, HE was a sargent with many years experience and knew what he was doing, anyway reporters and cameramen dont know how to "disarm" someone anyway :)

With all the respect, I never saw a guy with a kid on his arm with a knife on her neck or anithing similar. And even if this is true, this is a single F**king case. And please, stop critisice my country just to chock or impress your friends. Now, in good old portuguese for you guys

Oke, we can see the police guy with the filmcamera went for the gun. But the comment about the guy trying to squeeze the trigger. How can you possibly know that? I'm gonna tell you. NOBODY knows that. I'm gonna tell you another thing. This guy did NOT try to squeeze the trigger. What would be the point? He is no terrorist. He is going to lose anyway. And I'm sure he does not really want to harm the girl.

I wouldn't say it was a stupid move, but it was a very good try. And as someone said below, instead of going for the gun, the cop should have gone for the criminal's hand.

If the the criminal have a revolver, we just have to catch the chamber, or the "dog" and the weapon don't fire. Must people don't know, but, it's more easy to catch the weapon, by moving the arm, than pull the trigger by moving the finger, the muscles of th arms are quicker.

I hope that cop got a medal and the butthole is in jail where he should stay. Alas, I imagine he is already out doing crime instead of time.

It is hard to think this chap was truly a cameraman. I think he surely had had training in such things and the camera was only to lower the hostage taker's defences.

I absolutley love it when I see the bad guy lose. To take a hostage and use for your own benefit, is as low and despicable as anyone can get. Three cheers for the camera man.

Unless he got his finger jammed behind the trigger of the gun (preventing it from firing), he could have gotten that woman killed. Still, I commend him for actually acting instead of simply watching. Most people would have just sat there and gawked.

It's good to see someone step beyond the call of duty. He could have risked a lot by doing that. He ought to be christened a hero.

I saw this when I lived in brasil, he got some balls.
I saw another case where a guy had a kid on his arm with a knife on her neck, the cop that was trying to negociate put a his gun on the guys head real quickly and fired while he still holding the baby, that was cool.
there was another case where the kidnaper was holding the victin and the cop came with a gun like a k-47 and tried to shoot the guy him plus the hostage

That was a stupid move. He could easily kill the woman and the cameraman if he wasnt such an idiot.

i like the way he carefully places the camera down before using his 2nd hand to restrain him, gotta get your priorities right!!!!
