    How do you compare him to the likes of Terry Bozio or Chad Wackerman, just to name a couple.

      He sets up 20 drums or more, and then plays the same riff on each, one after the other, up and down, down and up. I get it Terry, r-i-i-ght, 'melodies'. Change riffs now, please! He was better when Missing Persons began, with a fairly small kit, playing music. There are about 10,000 better instruments to play melodies on, play rhythms on your drums.

      that's why he's so good! the drum kit is original and not fancy shmancy. that is RAW STRENGTH and technique. terry bozio is also very amazing. his rapid feet movement is incredible! i'm jsut saying buddy rich is not bad and you should give him some credit.

      also, the animal, i'm pretty sure that's faked and if it's not, that'a goood puppeteer! XD

    Animal is without a doubt the ultimate drummer. The only reason that buddy rich beat him is they had not fed animal for a week prior to the show so he would be week. ANIMAL

    He is an egotistical braggard. I never liked him at all, and I like good drummers. I have two brothers who play drums and I am used to hearing good drumming.

      All modern drummers have studied BR's technique. This man was born in 1917 and passed in 1987. Drummers such as Terry and Chad know their place and would not compare their technique to Buddy's. Dave Weckl set up his kit in my parents basement in 80' and we analyzed Buddy and Gadd for hours. What an experience!!!

      If you are a drummer with any experience whatsoever, you certainly should agree that Buddy Rich is in a class all by himself. Bozio and Wackerman are fine
      drummers, but not in the same league as Buddy Rich.
