Silva scored his first One Day International hundred against India just 3 weeks before the World Cup. His success in the middle order was a big bonus for Sri Lanka ahead of the tournament as over recent years theie batsmen had struggled in those positions.

His good form continued in the Cricket World Cup 2007, he managed to make 350 runs with an average of 43.75 with 4 half centuries and a highest score of 64.

  It's cricket mate! It's older than baseball and was the first professional competitve sport played in North America by the early settlers from Europe. Apparently it was a sport only played by the upper class europeans so it never spread. Now it's played in nearly every continent.
