Stock Market Investing - Ownership in Business (Part 1)

One of the fundamental concepts of value investing is to take an ownership in the investments. In other words, if you're investing in the business, you must ask yourself, what is it like being the owner of the business? What is the business about? How are you going to sustain the business in the long run?

As the world's richest investor, Warren Buffett says, "Shares are not mere pieces of paper. They represent part ownership of a business. So, when contemplating an investment, think like a prospective owner." This is because, if you truly believe and understand the quality of the business, you will begin to reap the profits consistently over time.

And unlike the typical stock market traders (nothing wrong with them by the way), , you wouldn't lose sleep during a market crash. If you do lose sleep however, it would be due to excitement rather than depression. This is because, a market crash is equivalent to a massive bargain to buy into the company
