i lived by chicagos midway airport, an airport in a neighborhood. id wait for the bus and the planes would fly in even closer on their landing. most recently, a 737 landed, couldnt stop and barreled out on to a busy , main intersection, killing a 6 yr old boy in his mini van at a red light. very sad and tragic.

  Meigs Field adjacent to the Adler Planetarium on the lake shore, too. Meigs was more General Aviation, but, these planes would approach and land similarly. Stephen.

I saw that at an airport in NH once
It was a learjet but, it was so close to the ground that a truck had to stop so that it didn't hit the roof. Had the truck been a few feet further the wheels would have cliped the top and the plane would have flipped and probably exploded or more likley the piolet would accelerate the plane and gain altitude and come around for a new landing.
