    The light is use to attract bugs which makes the fish jump to catch the bugs and they land in the boat. Here there is just a lot of hungry fish...

      You disturb the fish and that makes them jump. Notice the men tapping the boat... the noise disturbs the fish. Not all fish species do that... some do. Definitely its a fish sanctuary. Compare it to fish pond or fish farm... like milk fish in south east asia... if your disturb them in the pond they too jump.

    I have seen fish getting shocked it the water to be able to catch them. Not a high voltage, but just enough to get them moving. Do you guys think this is what happened here? Or is it just "jumping" fish, going after the light/heat

      This must be part of the Amazon river system, obviously from the Portugese language spoken. The bigger fish are attracted to the light, but during daylight hours, just the sound and turbulance in the water prompts fish to jump into boats. I have seen this myself in Venezuela, on the Orinoco river. No need for bait!

      i saw once in a documentary that the mayans or the incas (not sure wich) used to torch a flame in front of their boats in dark nights (when there aint no moon)
      i guess its the same way but these guys are using the modern method
