6-Foot Alligator Found In Florida Bathroom

Know the saying, see ya later alligator? Well, apparently one gator didn’t get the memo. Florida resident, Alexis Dunbar entered her home to find one angry creature lurking in her house. She tells Fox News how she felt when she opened her front door.

“Walk in the door and my whole house is discombobulated, furniture everywhere, things knocked down. I looked to the right and there’s an alligator hissing with his month wide open in my guest bathroom. I immediately ran outside."

Dunbar had come face-to-face with a six foot alligator. She believes the alligator’s main target was her two cats- saying, the alligator watches them play in her backyard everyday and views them as a tasty snack. (ABC News)

Don’t worry, the cats are OK. But how did this gator find its way into the house in the first place? CBS affiliate WAFB explains.

“It’s believed that the gator crawled up the bank and than under the fence right here and than made its way through the yard, through a screen and than through a doggie door into the house.”

Dunbar says she’s having trouble falling asleep after the intrusion. She’s so afraid, her boyfriend now enters her home before she does in fear that there may be another creature crawling inside. Could this be the worst animal to enter through a doggie door? ABC thinks so.

"But possibly not since Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, when Principal Rooney came face-to-face with a snarling K-9, has a doggie door brought in such an unwelcome guest."

Dunbar’s boyfriend was able to trap the gator in the guest bathroom until Dunbar called the nuisance-alligator toll-free number to recruit an alligator trapper. The trapper used ropes and duct tape to remove the intruder.
