A seemingly very hard landing executed beautifully. A view from the cockpit.

    • Unlikely

A drunk pilot would be dead. This guy recovered well.
Been there, crashed into a mountain in snow blizzard, it hurts. Our pilot kept us alive, but the plane was a total wreck.

  • not a very hard landing

This actually isnt such a hard landing, the only problem with the runway is that its on an incline. Ive made many appoaches into both San Franciso and Oakland Intl both in IFR and VFR conditions. Even with VFR conditions its a very hard approach do to the bridges and the end of the runway at Oakland starts and end on the water.

    • Must be a young one.

I have done both, maybe not 'many' times into SFO and Oakland, but I rather land there than in the bush on a runway that inclines in that area. O, I have been flying for almost 40yrs and have over 10,000 hrs, so I do know a little about both, just a little.

  • TIMMY SAID!

Timmy said to bob, lets land on that hill oer there, bob agreed, and the landed on the hill, with a very hard BUMP! Whereas Gary wanted to land on the mountain top so they could see the cities. But bob and timmy said, " Now lets not go that far eh?"

  • That's what bush pilots do.

That's how a bush pilot landed his taildragger on rough terrain. It's a planed and controled landing with a lot of skills. That's all.
