- Why not?
  The scratched part of the CD in made from polycarbonate, used for Lexan and bullet proof glass. The only thing I would worry about is a paper label, and most CD's are silk screened and don't use paper.

If you realy want to repair a CD
Use this product called "Braso" itÂ´s for polishing metals but it works great on CDÂ´s you will see them as new again.

Never heard of using gum...
But I did hear that you could use toothpaste. I'll give it a try though, all the CD's in the car are scratched.

  Toothpaste actually works. Many people have tried it. It doesn't work great, but it works good enough. Personally, I just say forget the whole process and burn a new CD.
