Don't overpack. If you've left whatever it is behind, chances are you can replace it here. Zagreb has most of the shopping bases covered, from traditional markets to kiosks to suburban superstores. Almost all the brands you love from home can be found, and if not, there's a decent chance that you'll be even happier with the local substitute. Groceries tend to be more affordable than in much of Europe, although prices for consumer goods such as electronics and clothing are on par with their counterparts in the West. If you can't find what you need in a hypermarket, you might enjoy the hunt at one of the many boutiques that line the downtown pedestrian corridors.
