Storm damage 'worse than Newcastle earthquake'.Parts of Branxton in the Hunter Valley, have been flooded as the Hunter River Floodwaters are moving gradually down the Hunter River in New South Wales, cutting local roads and inundating low lying farmland.

The river is breaking its banks at Branxton, near Singleton.

Callers to the ABC say houses around Branxton are flooding and water levels are continuing to rise.
