Red Card

That's almost normal in Italian league..

Im a referee and I can explain what just went on. When a player that commits a foul is injured in the process, the send off (Red Card) is shown to the captain or the keeper, whichever is closest. So the keeper didnt actually recieve a red, it was just show to him while the player that was actually sent off is being treated.

IFK Goteborg - Besiktas : 2 - 1 (Stefan Pettersson 18. Pen. /// Thomas Andersson 23. /// Oktay Derelioglu 45. )

This position was around 68' min. When the goteborg player fell down in the position with besiktas player( recep cetin) ; the referee decided to penalty shot , and red card to the goalkeeper Marijan Mrmic . That penalty was saved by the substitute gaolkeeper. 6 minutes from that penalty shot ,goteborg goalkeeper received a red card too.

That penalty decision and red card to the goalkeeper (who was not even in the area ) was the worst referee decision i've ever seen.

All you lot claiming you're referees, regardless of whether the player who "should" have got sent off was injured or not - no one touched the red guy thats why there is a deliberate pause in the video to show you how bad a decision it was.

How the f*** is that a red card! Even if he ment to card the other player the other guy slipped and at worst it should be a yellow. Andlast time i checked the goalie was allowed to go pick up the bal.

for all we know the goalie could have told the ref off
that yellow for the tackle turned into a red for the goalie

As Turks we got used to it. In many matches we lose games because of idiot refrees such as this one .. U better got used to it too :).

from the ref's angle, it looks like the goalie pushed the player down - notice how the goalie's hand moves out just as the player dives - also, the ref is running in from the left

it was clear enough for the referee to notice that there was no foul... but the goal keeper went to the ball with a hand motion that when interpreted by the player means stop stop... and so the referee gave the goal keeper the red card for making a decision without the referee blowing a whistle... i remember once... when i was playing and i picked up the ball because i was sure it was a foul... but the referee handed the foul to the opposing team... because i picked up the ball without hearing the whistle...!

The keeper has a thing with mrs ref, he,he you never know...

what happened was at one point where the dude trips on his own foot the referee is an angle where the goalies foot looked like it triped him. I am a goalie myself and they would not give you a red just for a giving a hand signal to stop thats ridiculus. Picking up the ball when you not a goalie is completely different.

that's why they freeze it at that point in the video. if you look at the keeper when the video freezes, then look at where the ref is standing, it would look so much like the keeper tripped the player from the ref's point of view

There is no CONTACT inbetween player and goalie but from the refs perspective it looks like foul.Also player did fake it a bit(a lot)
