To any programmers reading this
This is fun, but to take it a bit further I was wondering if there is a way to make the one shortcut open multiple programs.

For example, if it really DID open internet explorer, and then five minutes later the computer spontaneously shuts down.

(Alternately, where could I look up commands for this? I don't even know what to google.)

  First, its not a virus, nothing like that. the dumb programer, if even you r a programer, its called a BATCH program (*.bat). Second, its simply command prompt, only its scheduled. The only thing it has similar to a virus is the shortcut. Try Java Script or C for making a virus.

FIREWALL?
THIS IS WHAT I TYPE:

shutdown -s -t 30 -c "words"

{spaces after each group,
after the s,t,0, and after the c.}...and like some said the COMMAND prompt FLASHES once,really fast everytime i try to click it and doent do anything.

i think it make have something to do with the firewall maybe installed on some computers...

Try clearing your words... metteoborg
this is what you have to do:
shutdown -s -t [#] -c "[make anything up]"

-t= times; and -c=comment
------
to deactivate the countdown go to start>>run and type this:
"shutdown -a"
-a= abort.

I still is not working
I've tryed it over and over and the only thing that happens when i try to run the program is the command prompt flashes and thats it. This is how i type it in
( shutdown -s -t 1000 -c"words" ) Is that wrong? Can anyone help me?
