And most likely he is going through a phase at that age that he will grow out of that fat within 2 to 3 years. (VERY common - get educated!) My son had several "fat" kids in his school about this age that whenh their growing caught up with the weight they looked (and still look) perfect. Even my son's doctor told me not to put him on a diet, and guess what? The doctor was right! And you're still stupid!

All parents need to be more concerned with what their kids are eating, and that obesity among children is on the rise. But do you know for a fact that is what the boy in this video's problem was, as you imply you do. I'm a Mom who studies up on nutrition, and despite my intentions and my son's good eating habits, it STILL happened to my son, but then nature caught up. That may very well be the case with this boy (right age). And the name calling and jokes will do more to harm efforts than help. Either way, it's not any of our place to judge unless we know the particular facts in each case. And that's my sermon for today. Get over it! Moms preach - and look out for kids - that's our job!

There's always a hope I have that at least one person out there will think about the cruel things they said. And, yes, the swearing was funny. Actually, the whole video was at least mildly funny, it was all the mean comments that got me upset. And I know there are MUCH worse things in this world, but we all have to keep trying to make things a little better where we can, ya know? Helping to build self-esteem instead of tearing it down can give kids the tools they need to better themselves, no matter how much the parents fell down on the job.

I just remember how painful it was for my son when he went thru his 4 year chubby spell. Kids can be really mean, but I think they must learn that's ok at home. I told my son to always remember that any time he was ever tempted to make fun of anyone else. But one thing I have learned in my old age is that what goes around comes around (I'm living proof), and I got paid back for every smart remark I made in school when I was 18 and in a bad accident. Just stay as open minded and sensitive as you can, but still always stand up for what you think. You'll never be sorry. Sorry if I pissed you off, but sometimes I write before I think, and if I'm pissed at the comments ... well, you know?

because he looks to be about the age where his voice is changing. My son's voice got pretty high right before it changed, now it's really deep. Also, he was chubby about this age cause he hadn't grown much for 3 years. Then he shot up about a foot, and was trim and looks great to this day (22 years old now). Puberty S**ks , and there's not much you can do about it.

I think you're taking this a bit too seriously. Those were probably his friends shooting him. My friends and I would do this kind of S**t to each other all the time back in the day. Doing painful and embarassing pranks like this one only brought us closer together. It's just part of being a guy and growing up.
By the way, those kids at Columbine were ruthlessly tormented and harassed everyday, by dozens of kids. They weren't shot a few times with a paintball gun by their friends. Big difference.
