Derren Brown - Kung Fu Mind Punch

Lets see this jerk wad try his "mind punch" in an uncontrolled environment. Not in some closed, pre-scripted set with "students" who are most likely just extras that were hired for their ability to take a fall well.

althought this concept might be hard for people that don't know much about this "magician" to understand. Is that Derren Brown is one of thoes people that if anyone, he would be the person to do such a thing as this. He is a master hypnosis and mentalist, one of the best of the best, so untill you see him live, don't call him bullshit.

Not sure what to make of this, either he pulls some sort of suggestion trick on him by building up his anticipation, OR it's complete shait... Either way, I nearly wet my pants when he actually PHYSICALLY touched the guy and made the clumsy inquiery; -"Can you feel this?"

Sorry guys but that thing has nothing to do with chi powers or anything like that. In fact, there is not even a slightest scientical proof of any chi actually even existing. I think that the makers of this clip have cut a little part off where derren in some way hypnotizes the volunteer. The whole thing is suggestion and hypnosis.

SUBJECT : What could it be this " force " kicking people to the ground which I experienced in 1980 ?

In 1980 by chance I met a group of 50 young people with their leader practicing " yoga maya " in Mexico. I was with a lady ( friend ) and we got permission from the leader to practice " energy transference from the SUN " from me to my friend ( everybody did this in couples, 25 couples ). The one to to the energy transfer would have the back towards the Sun, ( it was early in the morning ) with hands crossed at the level of my wrists, fingers pointing down towards the fingertips of my friend, without touching her fingertips. She was doing the same position with fingertips pointing up. We were very close to each other facing each other. That Sunday, everybody saw ( with eyes closed, during ten minutes practice ) red light; my friend and I were the only ones to experience white light. At the beginning I saw white dots the size of the head of a pin growing wide until my entire right eye was completely white. Then quickly, a small ray of white light did appear in the corner of my left eye, where the tears flow, near the nose. And at that precise moment, my friend felt fainting that she grasped my hands but didn't faint and I didn't loose my focus. She regained her strength and continued her focus. The leader, at the end of these 10 minutes told us that I was doing this at a higher level because I was working with white light. Then at the next Sunday my friend didn't want to come with me for a second experience telling me that her mother thought I was a witch. So he said, let's do it in my garden. I was very upset ( without showing it to her ) because that was the last chance I had to talk to the leader of that group to let me become his student, so she got ready with her eyes closed and I positioned my arms upward towards the sky, with the Sun in my back, when the Sun was just coming out, and quickly I did pull my hands towards her hands without touching them and a strong force ( energy ) did hit both of us sending us almost to the ground ( we didn't hit the ground ) but that force did separate our bodies at about three feet away from each other, almost falling. I didn't get any pain after being hit by this force.

I was very scared about this experience, that I never touched the subject of energy transference for ten years, until I found Reiki ( healing technique ).

Derren : Am I a medium ( trance mediumship ? ) ; or was this force the energy of the Sun giving me a " Welcome " with this physical punch ? ; definitely, it was a spiritual experience, because my intention was to connect with the Sun to transfer his energy to my friend, even if I was very upset .

Do you have any explanation for this ?

I read that Theos Casimir Bernard did this. In a newspaper I read the article about Theos when he went to the Los Angeles Police Department talking to the boss offering to the policemen his technique on how to kick people to the ground without touching them, he got humiliated as if he was a fool and before leaving, Theos returned and asked to all ( almost fifteen policemen ) of the officers to one by one kick him to the ground, and nobody could, but ever police officer was sent to the ground without being touched by Theos.

Also, Morihei Ueshiba ( founder of Ai Kido ) used a technique to send people to the ground.

It is not hypnosis as some people say, I don't know nothing about hypnosis.

If someone ( besides Derren Brown ) has had a experience like this one, can you share it with me and explaining how can I develop it and use it in a controlled way, done by my willpower, anytime, anywhere ?

this china man is a fraud to the martial arts, especially when he says he can put out a candle flame from one inch away, when in fact he pulled his arm all the way and puts the candle out with more force which he wasnt ment to do that.

The first thing I notice is that they clearly CLEARLY state that the one inch punch is it is just one inch. He pulls his hand back to his chest to blow out the candle, and then to hit the guy he pull is back about 6 to 8 inches. As long as you get momentum and the guy isn't bracing himself you can knock him back. In the true one inch punch the hand barely moves. So this guy claims to be a master. I don't think so.

Actually the master there is one of the Top Wing Tsun instructors. A direct student from GGM Leung Ting, for those who know about WT. He is the real deal, if you've not trained with him then and you don't have 25 years of martial arts experience then you don't compare. He is also one of the best in the world at the WT Long Pole.

i've seen someone show a whole load of the pushing someone without touching them thing that derren brown always does and he explained it and its (of course) bogus. it's like magic, it's for entertainment.

as i said last time someone posted some hypnosis stuff... all this sort of entertainment stuff is bogus. hypnosis in hypnotherapy is far far different. (i have a friend who was a hypnotherapist, he's studying to be a real doctor now ;-) )

Okay, Darren Brown in NO way claims to have any psychic or magical powers... like someone said earlyer, he shows the frauds in other "magicians" and such... he is unlike David Blain who is trying to tell everyon he has special powers.

ANYway, Derren Brown is like David Blaine, but focuses onf psychology over magical tricks. His illusions/ tricks are all about the power of suggestion. I've seen him use the losing ticket at a race to get money from the cashier, just by body language, tone of voice, body emphasis. etc etc.

I don't know about the whole chi / psychic / whatever thing. I can't make a judgement about that. What I do notice is that the Sifu, the "most sophisticated master of Wing Chun Kung Fu in Hong Kong" as Brown put it, doesn't look a day over 40 (I'd guess more like 30s though). In normal martial arts circles, the best masters are at least in their 60s and 70s especially as far as chi manipulation so I find it hard to believe that a guy this young can be the "most sophisticated master...in Hong Kong." as Brown put it. That right there makes me distrust this video regardless of anything else

The "one inch punch" I can teach you to do in about ten minutes, including practice.

The "invisible punch" is simply suggestion. If the dummy tried it on me, I'd have him on the ground so fast he would never try that stupid nonsense again.

Derren brown has studied human psychology for years and years and the stuff he does is real. A few weeks ago he made 3 members of the public attempt to rob a security guard at gunpoint. He did this by planting ideas in their head over a period of 3-4 weeks, they thought they were at a seminar, conducted by him. By the way the fourth person didn't attempt the robbery....they always show everything, even failures on the show.
But trust me, its for real. You opinionated yanks go watch the Superbowl or something else which only requires an IQ level in double figures
