Thank goodness for that guy warning me twice that the experiment was dangerous, i was thinking it looked quite safe to try at home and was making plans to give it a go in the kitchen. Was in the process of bidding on cheap L. Oxygen on E-Bay.

is the title of the program (as seen on the wall at the start of the clip). It's a terrific fun science program. I saw one edition where the man was filtering his own wee to see if it was true that it was drinkable. Excellent!!

I noticed that the narrator was from Top Gear (don't remember his name) but it seems this clip is not from that show. It seems very interesting though.

What a bunch of jackasses! "Liquid oxygen is used as rocket fuel." No, it isn't! Everybody knows it's not the fuel, it's the oxidizer, allowing the liquid hydrogen (the actual fuel in the space shuttle) or what-have-you to burn rapidly. The reason it exploded is because the steel wool was able to oxidize (burn) extremely quickly, releasing the energy in a fraction of a second.

Tip of the day: Hook up some steel wool to a 9-volt battery to see what happens. Use this concept for building ignitors and detonators.
