Audiobook production entails cost. Narrators are being paid either per hour, per session or per output. The rate also depends on the narrator himself. There are professionals, or even authors themselves or famous celebrities that do the narration. So it is expected that websites do charge for an audiobook download. It's just so easy to download a free audiobook. However, you need to be very careful in downloading a free audiobook online. It would be best to download audiobooks from authorized websites so you will be sure that the audiobook quality will not be compromised.

Though it is always an option for you to download free audiobooks from unauthorized websites, it sometimes is not that reliable and may only waste your time. Aside from the fact that this could not offer the best or even a good audiobook quality, it is also illegal to download from those which are copyrighted. It's one form of stealing. So why would you download from unauthorized sites when you can have a legal and better download from authorized ones?
