  • body mechanics

Her posture, the way she's coming up the back with her thumbs, is what gives most L.M.T.'s a limit of 7 yrs. in their careers. I would encourage ALL M.T.'s to look into a course on body mecahanics. This can save your career, as well as your thumbs, wrists, shoulder joints, etc. It's just part of self care. Other than that, i loved her use of the elbow in her work, and yes, she is very lovely!

  • Is this a joke

She is hot but the rest is a joke. For the peanuts that say you cant use your thumbs in deep tissue can keep them in there ass'es Thumbs can be used in deep tissue, although not the way she is using them. HOT TIP TIME. when using a thumb bend it and use the tip only. You will get heaps more pressure and accuracy. Instead of playing games with this dude why not just warm him up and crack his back with the palm of 2 wrists. Either side of spine. Deep tissue isnt sensule and slow. Its getting into the spots that need attention. Full detail should go into hands and feet. This is the most important part of the body. If you loosen up both them the rest of the body will loosen up easy. The belly is where all the tention is held. Most massages dont touch the belly. After working the feet and hands and various other points the Chi can and usually will start moving. Now is the time to get into the stomach. Get in deep and agrovate the rock deep inside. You may think im crazy but l do have a Deploma in deep tissue massage and l have witnessed Exersisoms and experienced jaw locking Chi movements. The thing is if you are going to practice true deep tissue you need to be able to keep cool and grounded when your clients body starts releasing built up emotions or anxiety etc etc. The style this lady show is a complete waist of time. There is no rule what body part a practitioner can and cannot use. If it gets in deep and you know your anatomy then you will figure it out. Close your eyes feel the body , use your intuision and practice, practice practice. You will always learn something new from every body

  • DO NOT IMITATE THIS!!

she's cute and all but her body mechanics are so wrong you could potentially hurt yourself imitating this. Do not try this at home go to a professional! she's odviously not a pro. Some advice for the CMT(certified massage therapist) Practice, Practice, Practice! especially anatomy and physiology.

  • Oy!

I have to agree with some of the other comments - the body mechanics are all wrong. The shearing motion on the thumbs is damaging to the therapist. There are many things wrong with her forearm technique - there is little to no power in pulling toward yourself like that, and that can't feel good on her back. She would be much better off facing the direction of her movement and keeping her body weight over her arm. An amateur (or anyone) would be ill-advised to try these techniques...

  • Wrong Wrong Wrong - Wrong Techniques!

    k. so I am a Certified massage therapist and she is doing all the wrong techniques for deep tissue. No thumbs are supposed to be used, and when using the forearm you don't pull your arm, you push!

  • CMT?

Its the Spinal Column or the Erector Spinea muscle group.
You are spreading out along the Upper Trapezius, along the Nuchal Ligament.
Please do the rest of us CMT's a favor and learn the proper language to make an informative video.

  • Horrible body mechanics!!

What's up with the forearm technique?!... she looks so uncomfortable doing it. She has no clue. She is certified to last a few years in the business.

  • Not Professiona at ALL

Her body mechanics are horrible and most of all, always remember where your body is in respect to your client..her boobs are on the guys head..come on, you mean she's not aware of it, this is the type of "therapist" that gives the rest of us a bad name and the wrong idea of what massage is all about....LAME!!

  • Nice video but mechanics are incorrect

First off her thumb joint is being compromised by her initial action. You should NEVER stress your joints like that or you wont last 5 years. Another option would be to use the heal of your hand as you move up the spine without flexing the wrist joint too much so not to stress it.

Then the wrist being stressed while going UP the back is strange. You should always position oneself so you can use the weight of your body to deepen the stroke while going forward, not backwards. Facing the body

    • I agree

i totally agree with you. I can tell ou that she has horrible shoulders, wrists, and back.

    • beauty before skill

So many beautiful people get advanced in this business just because they're so relaxing to look at, so desirable to be touched by.. I feel a little bad for them so frequently missing out on learning about improving their own technique to avoid injury just because people keep insisting they're "the best".
