A cool compilation of Judo fights. This is one elegant sport
OK, this not judo. He is using his knowledge in judo to win a competition. That could be OK too. But the fact that he does not let go when his opponent is desperatly giving up, that is not OK.
He is a bad example of a judo black belt. I am ashame that we have the same belt.
are idiots, the names are always wrong, so much ignorance
By aznxthuggie 1143187263...to those who are considering judo, this is NOT a judoka, this is thug that is out to hurt someone in a purely sporting competition...i am so terribly embarrassed of him not letting up an opponent, it speaks poorly of judo, but this is not typical....
By JohnnyChicago 1263253915This is Gracie Jiu Jitsu AKA Bjj (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu)
By godamnit! 1193806904...how can jiu jitsu be brazilian in root, with a japanese name?..i think it's just good marketing, frankly...is BJJ different and have different moves then the armlocks, chokes, locks of judo/jiu jitsu?
By JohnnyChicago 1263254127THIS IS NOT JUDO IT IS GRACIE JIU-JITSU AT ITS FINEST!!
By bjjforever 1171161124don't end when someone lays on the ground. if someone gets thrown to the ground then the match ends if the the throw was executed well. if it wasn't done so well, or both people fall at the same time then it goes into grappling. also, BJJ came from judo and in pride there are a few successful judokas.
By muaythaiandy 1166828961in tkd u kick ppl in kung fu u jump around and stuff and in judo u learn to snap a dudes arm like a stick...which 1 do u chose?
By new orleans kid 1164763280on which you enjoy doing more. I took judo as a kid and hated... because i wanted to hit people. Now, I am an assistant kung fu instructor, and am thinking of going back to judo- because its awesome if your good at it.
Very annoyed by the title of this video. I wanted to see Judo, not BJJ.
this isnt judo, this is pure gracie jiujitsu at its best
By syzmatic efx 1164038894GRACIE JUJUTSU IS NOT ACTUALLY A JUJUTSU IT IS JUDO IT WAS THE JAPANESE WHO TOUGHT HIM TO USE THE TERM JUJUTSU INSTEAD OF JUDO... POOR GRACIE BUT ANYWAY JUDO CAME FROM JUJUTSU... THAT IS WHY IT IS SOMEHOW SEMILAR..
By WINGMODE 1176279027I dont care what they used to call it, today it is known as gracie jiujitsu, Helio, and his brother carlos refined the technique you speak of by a guy named count koma, there's a little history you can learn from.....
By syzmatic efx 1176933643This isn't judo this is ufc. In judo when you lay to the ground the fight ends in ufc fight ends when a fighter is in a bad lock or so hurt.
By erdem01 1152582101you do know that judo comes from jiu jitsu it has some of the same moves but judo is better since judo has all of the better techs from jiu jitsu. I would know i go to judo and my friend goes to jiu jitsu.
By master777 1152372530If judo is better than why are most MMA champions bjj, while NO champ is ever a judoka?
Also, sambo is better than both. (Proof: Fedor!!!!!)
It is true that judo focuses on the better standup techniques from Jiu-Jitsu. The reason that a judoka has never been a MMA champ is because there is next to nothing for groundwork in judo. Judo covers five basic pins, some chokes, and a couple of armbars. NOTHING ELSE. BJJ assumes that the fighter already knows how to get an opponent to the ground; that's why BJJ is ENTIRELY groundwork. BJJ will always beat judo because the natural progression of a fight is to the ground.
By Captain Kickass 1155752304Look it up in the dictionary and there'll be a picture of Royce Gracie.
Probably the best there's ever been at fighting on the ground.
Gracie best?????????? lol hahahahaha
Sakuraba destroyed Gracie and everyone of his brothers who had balls to fight him.
Gracie also lost MANY other fights, like to Mattt Hughes last month.
put sakuraba 10 years in past and let see!! cracie i bet , i like ufc beacuse royce all the new generation is not original and is only publisity . roiyce come back to fight becouse a lot a people [ay big box to see him in the last fight let's dont talk bad about him & his fam they desrve a lot respect
By great champ 1166611658Sakuraba's a F**king champ, easily my favorite fighter of all time.
By Captain Kickass 1155751854that looks more like folkstyle wrestling than judo Basically all of the moves he uses except for the head scissor I have used wrestling for my school
By malignance 1150372764He may be great at newaza (judo term meaning groundwork) but that is ALL he seems to do. By taking the person down to the groud, he is reducing the match to a Jujitsu match and of course he is likely to win then. It may be playing to his strengths, but unless you're a fan of newaza, he's a bore. And yes, this is Jujitsu, not Judo.
