  is bears' abilities in smell, the blood hound (dog) can smell 3 times more than humans and bears can smell 400 times better than them, something like that, i know bears can smell 1200 times better than humans.
  Also bears have been known to smell things up to 100 miles away, they will smell some source of food and can follow that smell in a complete straight line for up to 100 miles, yes MILES!!!

dude, it is all about the size of the creature. it can lift a certain ammount of its bodyweight and the elephant can't lift as many times it's own bodyweight as the rhino beetle

  Homer7757, some dog (not all races) can smell 2000 times as humans. They've trained a dog to smell cancerous cells for God's sake. Don't know about the bear's sense of smell but at 1200 times ours, it sounds logical.
