A fun and easy prank to pull on your friends or co-workers. "Hey! My computer's broken!"
Auto hiding the task bar, the task bar will show up with the mouse on the bottom of the screen. Right click the task bar, uncheck "lock the task bar" so the task bar is unlocked. Now move the cursor over the task bar to get the double arrow. When you have the double arrow, drag the task bar so that it is only 4 pixels in size. Now even the techie's won't be able to figure out the PC... Good Prank.
By wsss 1183412046 Reply Spam [+26] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhen unlocked, you can move it to another side of the screen so it doesn't automatically come up if they do move the cursor to the bottom...
By jgoemat 1189051284 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou can right click the desktop and go to Auto arrange icons by and then unclick Show Desktop icons. Then you dont have to worry about actually deleting any icons. When you want to get them back just right click to show the icons again.
By wittynickname1 1185448819 Reply Spam [+19] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyou can move them to a new folder, then put that folder in the recycle bin, since you don't mess with that. Then when (if) you tell the person what you did, they will yell and scream at you for deleting all the stuff on their desktop, and you can pull the folder out of the recycle bin, and viola, all the files are safe.
once again, awesome nk5, I love your computer videos.
and charge them a fortune for restoring their desktop. lol.

By climactix 1184081529 Reply Spam [+17] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAnd if I found out you were deleting crap off my desktop, I would be-head you.
You are better off using Ctrl Alt Down arrow to flip the screen up-side-down and watch them try to flip it the right way using the control panel, because the mouse is inverted too. :P
..you should always use Windows L to lock the screen before you walk away.
The CTRL-ALT-DOWN only works for a certain type of video card (ATI?) that happens to have that feature enabled. It's not actually a Windows feature.
Thanks

By VideoVault 1195522810 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf the user has a CRT monitor you can be even meaner... Shrink the taskbar to 0 size (unlock it first then flatten it to nothing, will show just a small line). Then access the settings of the CRT monitor and extend/move the entire screen down outside of the frame so the taskbar becomes outside the viewable area. NOW let's see how he finds that out...

By ale123 1220397520 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removejust right click on the desktop and uncheck "Show Desktop Icons". You don't have to move or delete anything.
Plus, this old trick won't work on me because I would hit the Windows Key on the keyboard, unless you have it unplugged, but then I would hit the CapsLock and the NumLock to make sure it's working... Also if you right click on any of the fake icons then you know they are not icons.
Press Ctrl+alt+del and click Start Task Manager, then in the Processes tab end Explorer.exe. (In Windows Vista, end Csrss.exe) Then close Task Manager.
To undo the trick, in Task Manager, in the Application tab, click New Task and type explorer.exe.
To undo the trick, in Task Manager, in the Applications tab, click New Task and type explorer.exe (or csrss.exe if you have Windows Vista).

By stratcat 1190599582 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeto get rid of icons right click on desktop then go to arrange icons by then uncheck "show irons" or wut ever
By movietoast 1190552140 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI've been doing this for years at places like Best Buy, Circuit City, Radio Shack etc.
But rather than deleting icons I simply highlight them and drag them off the screen.
That way the real icons can't be seen but its a little easier to fix back in the long run.
S**ks they rejecetd it from PR, though!
