I was going to do this on My central america camping trip but didn't get around to it. I'll do it this summer and drink it on video. Heck I'll drink fresh pee to and compare!

the truth is urine is 99% water and 1% excess substances which we actually get from food, so i dont think drinking pee is much of a problem! hehe
still if u were in the desert you will be dehydrated and wont have any urine to pee!! so it wont work both ways!

Why piss at all
Gather some green leaves and scatter in the wooden box, and you will have the same water through evaporation of the leaves , any green vegetation would do. U dont need the sand or dirt either.
