The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes is an organization devoted to assisting wounded and disabled veterans. Recently they’ve teamed up with country music star LeAnn Rimes to make a special donation by giving away modified cars to Iraq war veterans. Over 26,000 soldiers have been wounded since the start of the Iraq war, but mobility is a change for millions of Americans. The modified cars are outfitted with Sit N’Lift, an alternative for those that are not wheelchair users in a vehicle. A factory-installed option, it allows you to easily get in and out of the vehicle. The cars can also help millions of others. As Americans live longer they develop chronic problems with knees, hips and arthritis. Technology like powered seats can improve their mobility, as well as their sense of independence.
