Thats exactly why I direct them to the states website so they can first learn the rules. As far as losing ones life, no one loses their life in small claims court. The whole advantage of this law is that about 0% spammers show up to defend themselves, so you win.
If they want to pay airfare and count sue to explain that they have a good reason for spamming, good luck.
The only time someone could get counter sued is when they show up and have proof that its not their

I decided to go after one in October just to learn how to do this. They didn't fly out here for court and I got a judgment. I gave it to a collection agency and they just paid on Saturday. I now know what the process is and can speed it up on the collection time.
This was just a learner suit.
If you have $20,000.00 its true you can be a millionaire in 1 to 4 years.
You have to also have the time to do it.
I still work for a living.
That may change very soon though.

I get about 100 spam emails a day, that I never asked for. Back in the olded days they would have to pay for the paper and advertisment and the stamp to mail to me. NOW, spam, uses MY computer, MY electricty, MY internet service provider,MY email address to send me junk that I never asked for.
I'm paying for this.
The laws are actually not strict enough, some spammers make $750,000.00 a month with only $50,000.00 being their overhead, and we are all paying for this out of our pockets.
