    you can stop at several positions throughout the technique and still maintain control. in the ground immobilization position, like in my vid, he can't fight back. if he tries to move, she can just cause more pain. theres another technique, i cant quite remember how it's done (need to go back to the dojo!) which allows one to immobilize an attacker on the ground while remaining in a standing position in order to continue surveying the surroundings. another favorite of mine is using various aikido throws to toss the first aggressor into the next, using a person as a defense weapon.
