DONT do it, the reason that the cable is the way it is, is that there is 1 signal line-1 ground line every time to seperate all the lines and reduce the errors. sorry for my english, anyway if you do your reading speed will reduce..

Just make sure they lay flat and not blocking air flow.
If you like them rolled up?, just roll the flat ribbon cable up and tape it. (BTW) that's electrical tape not duct tape.
This is a well made video but the project is worthless.

can just go out and buy a pre-made set and save yourself the headache of screwing up the flat cable and having to do it over again!(looks better too.)

Just go to your local computer store and buy round ide cables. You can also get them for the floppy drive. One star.

like if this was such a good idea, the manufacturers would have made them that way already? I like the way it looks, cleans up the case a lot. Is the better cooling thing because of increased airflow without blockage from the IDE cables? Also seems you should put a disclaimer for those who would end up cutting their cables and causing shorts, frying the mobo or the hard drive?

Just get SATA ;s so much better and a 10th of the width of IDE lol.

If you bind up an IDE cable (what they call the 'big' wires) you will cause heat to build up when you use your hard drive or disk drives.

IF THESE WIRES OVERHEAT, THEY CAN CATCH ON FIRE. BYE BYE COMPUTER.

an colour oil cooling system and a n clear side panel for your tower...now that does look the business...This method will damage your computer and cause it to run slower...use at your own risk is my advice...check out my vids to proove i know what im talkin about!!

There is a reason why the IDE cable's have been manufactured that way. To avoid EMS interference. This will cause you problems like slow data transfer due to EM Noise in line.

I have blue, red, or yellow cables up for grabs.

wont that just make it hotter, cause when they are wraped toghter and tape on it it will isollate the heat.. so it's better not to play with the cabels

why would you want to clean up your cpu tower? the average person never needs to open it. if you know what your doing and want to speed up you pc just go buy some RAM,Better Graphics card or a slave hard drive. doing this is time consuming, dangerous, and harmful to your computer. people, you have to remember, they dont do these types of things for a reason. besides its not like you have to look inside your pc and think"its ugly", a "cooler" computer want run any faster. and since when do they over heat?

But you can buy these already made which are also more reliable and save you LOTS of time.
