    but your drives have twice as many read write errors. slowing down the overall performance.

    also its not easy to do with an 80 pin BLUE ended cable.

    just buy a premade 80pin round cable for 2 bucks...

    DONT do it, the reason that the cable is the way it is, is that there is 1 signal line-1 ground line every time to seperate all the lines and reduce the errors. sorry for my english, anyway if you do your reading speed will reduce..

    Just make sure they lay flat and not blocking air flow.
    If you like them rolled up?, just roll the flat ribbon cable up and tape it. (BTW) that's electrical tape not duct tape.
    This is a well made video but the project is worthless.

    like if this was such a good idea, the manufacturers would have made them that way already? I like the way it looks, cleans up the case a lot. Is the better cooling thing because of increased airflow without blockage from the IDE cables? Also seems you should put a disclaimer for those who would end up cutting their cables and causing shorts, frying the mobo or the hard drive?

      1- The manufacturers doesn't make it like that because it's cheaper for them the standard ones but also you can buy them on stores. 2- Yes, your right. 3- In my point of view only people with a minimal experience will try this so they already know that kind of things but i apreciate your advice! Thanx for the comment and sorry for some ortographic mistakes! :)

    If you bind up an IDE cable (what they call the 'big' wires) you will cause heat to build up when you use your hard drive or disk drives.

    IF THESE WIRES OVERHEAT, THEY CAN CATCH ON FIRE. BYE BYE COMPUTER.

    an colour oil cooling system and a n clear side panel for your tower...now that does look the business...This method will damage your computer and cause it to run slower...use at your own risk is my advice...check out my vids to proove i know what im talkin about!!

    There is a reason why the IDE cable's have been manufactured that way. To avoid EMS interference. This will cause you problems like slow data transfer due to EM Noise in line.

    why would you want to clean up your cpu tower? the average person never needs to open it. if you know what your doing and want to speed up you pc just go buy some RAM,Better Graphics card or a slave hard drive. doing this is time consuming, dangerous, and harmful to your computer. people, you have to remember, they dont do these types of things for a reason. besides its not like you have to look inside your pc and think"its ugly", a "cooler" computer want run any faster. and since when do they over heat?

    • overheating occurs quite often

      i have a gaming computer and it used to overheat alot until i added another 3 fans. im at 7 including power supply and graphics card.

      remember a high performance computer needs high performance parts.
