  • this is stupid

    Ok, So u can reset a password. However it only works if you are an admin. Most computers come with only one Admin account. So if you're not admin you cant reset a password. Also you changed your own password therefore you were already logged in and therefore you already knew the login password. :(

  • more easier way to do it!

    On your Desktop, just go to my computer,right click and select manage. On computer management select Local users and Groups then Users. Now on the account you wish to change the password,just right click on it and select Set Password. On the warning alert, select proceed and then just type in your new password, confirm and press Ok. that easy than going into command prompt..

    It did work for me as long as I am and administrator. If I am not an administrator on that computer then it said "access denied"

    mine worked until i pressed enter after typing in ''net user owner *'' then this came up: '' user name could not be found...blah blah blah :S what did i do wrong?

    • check the user accounts

      You probably don't have a user named "owner" defined on your Windows. Enter "net user" on the command prompt to find out all users (locally) defined. Then use the "net user <username> *" command

    It worked for me and you can do that before logging in, just press F8 when the comp starts and choose Safe mode with command prompt and do the rest shown above
