Sensei Anthony Britton shows you how to disarm someone attacking you with a bottle, knife or another object. This disarm is intended for when you are in a bargaining position meaning when someone is threatening you with an object but has yet to attack.

IMPORTANT: Please use extreme caution when practicing these moves. Remember that with the right amount of force, you can severely hurt somebody. These techniques are to be used for self-defense purposes only. All self-defense moves and tips are to be used at the risk of the user.

Self Defence: Weapon Disarm

  • Please Note,

This technique is basically an old japanese joint lock often called omote gyaku.

Most people usually teach this joint lock as a defense against a one handed grab but you "can" get omote gyaku in many different places during a fight.

However, teaching a student to just walk up to your potential attacker, grab their hand and "try" to get this technique on them is asinine. Obviously no one is going to let you do that. And they would HAVE TO LET you even in the context of "he's not attacking you yet".

This guy doesn't understand enough about real fights to be teaching anyone self defense.

    • It's a "Bargaining Position" Move

As Sensei Britton explains, this isn't to be used during an actual attack. It's those seconds before someone attempts to strike you that you have a brief opportunity to make a move to get away. In a Bargaining Position, the aggressor is just threatening you with a weapon (hasn't hurt you yet) so he would already be close and the last thing he/she would expect is a counterstrike from a seemingly defenseless victim. If you bend someone's hand like that, it will hurt like crazy and you will take someone down.

  • And with the other hand ....

the attaker hit he in the ear and kills (because he is angry with pain)

    • Yeah, I agree with you-

He has a Kali stick but does not know how to use it. A better way is a quick strip where the stick is peeled so as to hit the attacker in the face with it.
