who cares which sport is better? we all like what we grew up with, it doesn't mean either is better. but i'd have to say that soccer is pretty boring. it's guys kicking a ball up and down the field and scoring is so occasional that hooligans start fighting when a goal comes. it's monumental when a goal is scored. then they only have to learn one position. basketball players have to play offense and defense effectively. plus basketball has the shot clock and 4 quarters, plenty of buzzer beaters. and when your team is down 2 with 1 second left in basketball you have a good chances of winning or tying. things change more quickly. in soccer, forget it, you lost.

My 4 year old son plays soccer or football for those of you who will have a cow. He scored 3 goals in his last game. He can really play other sports because he isn't coordinated enough yet. A 4 year old can kick a ball though.
Also soccer/football has been around much much longer. That is why more people watch it. I'd like to see the people that can kick a ball hit a baseball or shoot a basketball. You shoudn't have to build an attention span to watch a sport. It shout just be exciting. 1-0 after 3 hours is not exciting.

And as for basketball making more money... you obviously dont understand the economy of sports.
1st - NBA basketball is a franchise, its essentially one big business - so all the finances are calculated as such. If you were to calculate football revenues as a whole (worldwide tv rights, sponsorship, gate receipts, endorsements etc), basketball would again, just like the viewing figures, be dwarfed by football.... remember, football is GLOBAL unlike your quaint little sport which only YOU play.
2nd - the worlds richest sports club (of any sport) is Spains Real Madrid, closely followed by Englands Manchester United... both football clubs, both have huge followings in asia, huge sponsorship deals, huge image rights deals for their players (beckham is a good example) and stadiums which house 60000 people (at $40 a ticket... i'll let you do the math)
Having said this, yes, top basketball players get bigger wage packets than top football players, but thats because there are less bball players to go round AND because its a closed market. Not to mention that the pay structure is completely different.... OR that your currency is weak - only worth around HALF of ours.
Even so, what the fuck has money got to do with it? nobody watches it - nobody cares.
