Easy to make solid rocket propellant using sugar and potassium nitrate. Like all things that involve fire - Be careful - and do this outside with proper supervision.

This combination is commonly referred to as Rocket Candy and is used in amateur rocketry.

You will see that we put the propellant in a glass container. After making the video I would not suggest this. The rapid heating of the glass from the burning propellant causes the glass to expand and then explode. So use something a little safer, like a paper cup.

Please, don't hurt yourself. This is a safe and relatively low energy rocket propellant.

You are right in that this is the exact same mixture as smoke bombs. Not many people know that and thus when they try to make "smoke bombs" they end up making a rocket on accident that takes off lol

  i think that if hed shown us how to make it then some idiots will get hurt..because they dont have A. the sense to run or B. they decided to do something dangerous with it...like putting it inside a house and having the house catch on fire. but seeing as how he scooped it out of a pot i think you need to cook the sugar and potassium nitrate.
