Easy to make solid rocket propellant using sugar and potassium nitrate. Like all things that involve fire - Be careful - and do this outside with proper supervision.

This combination is commonly referred to as Rocket Candy and is used in amateur rocketry.

You will see that we put the propellant in a glass container. After making the video I would not suggest this. The rapid heating of the glass from the burning propellant causes the glass to expand and then explode. So use something a little safer, like a paper cup.

Please, don't hurt yourself. This is a safe and relatively low energy rocket propellant.
