    The concept of the combustible engine has been obsolete for the past 50 years. We have so many alternative methods for vehicles and industry. But the oil companies still hold too much power and force us to use gas, with their only compromise to alternative fuel for vehicles being "hybrids". Greed is keeping us from doing the right thing.

    my car ran out of gas at the bottom of a hill thats about 45 or 50% grade.my passenger insisted that if i go really light on the peddle,my car would go farther on the tiny bit of gas left in the tank.I did so and the car went about 1/4 mile.I disagreed that the car would go farther that way,so the next day i went to the same spot nearly on empty and purposely ran out of gas.after rocking the car aruond i got it going and floored the peddle.the car made it 6 and1/2 miles up hill to the gas station and ran out at the pump.can anyone tell me why the car went farther at full throttle? 3.3L buick FI...

    • try timing how long you go - not just h...

      gravity may be keeping your distance down when going slow. if you travel 1/4 mile in lets say a minute at slow speed then you have no momentum and stop there. if you travel lets say 1/4 minute at full throttle and make it 6.5 miles in that time or even just 6 miles and coast the other 1/2 mile then your answer is probably in the timing

      momentum my brother the car weighs more to the engine at slower speeds ie you use less gas on the highway than in town and the worst gas milage you get is sitting at idle that is 0 miles per gallon hope that helped

    • Not correct...

      Actually going slower uses less gas, you get better highway milage because you're going a constant speed. Stopping and starting, or accelerating and decelerating, use more gas.

    look. there is ZERO chance for something to take in carbo and not put out CARBON!
    it doesn't have to be dirty looking.
    C02 is colorless and oddorless.
    plus, if this was true, the working plans would be all over the place and this would be one of the most revolutionary machines around, the oil industry can't hold this stuff down... we live in the world of opensource.
    think about it... windows doesn't like linux... but that hasn't stopped linux from existing... if it were possible, we will have it, end of story.

    why aren't they using it in an automobile that moves? why isn't is looked at by chemists and physicists?

    Petrol is a hyrocarbon substance when heated to +- 750 deg with the exhaust system it causes the petrol to break down to its molecular make up and that being hydrogen and carbon, at this point if water is added it increases the Hydrogen and Oxygen levels in molecular levels also which burns the carbon up even further and thus the emmisions will be , H2O.
