Air Crash - Spitfire Crash [13+]

I was there the day that happened. It was at Woodford Airshow in uk. I was directly inline, about 100 meters away and the heat was tremendous. The most tragic thing was the pilots family were in the tower watching the display.

I was stood talking to the firemen as i was on security but off duty that day, i remember the heat made me jump into the grass for cover, I wasn't sure how hot it was going to get

I was near the front and like the rest of you guys it was the heat that I was shocked about. Remember it being a very hot day and I allways wondered if he had been blinded cause I couldnt work out how else he made a mistake. Im assuming he was too low when he started the loop. If my memory serves me well the spitfire was owned by rolls royce and was painted with royal navy colours underneath

i was 5 when i seen that crash at woodford i also remember the massive heatwave as it hit the ground may he rest in peace

I was also at the Woodford airshow when this Spitfire hit the ground, stopped the airshow for a couple of hours and then followed with a pair of Russian MIGs. A Harrier jump jet also landed so heavy that it burst its tyres.
