first off whoever said that you cant zoom in on the hollywood sing on google earth obviously hasnt messed around with google earth much and secondly i dont mean to be mean but i thought you all should know it has been proven false that the great wall of china is visible from space with the naked eye the great wall is no wider than a major highway therefore if you cannot see highways then you cannot see the great wall and lastly whoever is saying that the sign and shadows are painted on im sorry but youre wrong satellite imagery isnt taken from straight above the thing it is taking a picture of it it taken at a wider angle it just appears to be straight above because of the distance it is away from the earth... thank you

Take a look in "google erth" is much better than this. You can zoom every sigle place on the world, you can zoom even your house!!!!

High detail pictures like that are taken from airplanes using special cameras... then those pictures are blended into low definition pictures from satellites. As far as I know high quality satellite pictures (at least in google earth) resolution is 15 meter per pixel.
But it's still amazing.

Yes, it could be fake, but just because the letters aren't tilted doesn't mean you can't read them from space. The satellite could be looking down on the planet at an angle.
Because *ghasp* the earth is indeed round.

This video is just from a program called Keyhole. If you actually play around with the program it's really amazing. Google recently acquired the company which shows that it may be important. You can download a trial version at Keyhole's website.

... does not appear like this from the air. The letters are 30' across the base and 50' high and are designed to be read by low flying aircraft and from the ground. The letters do not tilt up and therefore, can not be viewed from space. Good video though!
