I am laffing hard as I read some of these posts. The "dad" should have the child taken away for showing him a scary joke? There are a couple of things we may learn from watching this video: first that the kid is a weak doormat that will be beat up in school, passed over for promotion and generally overlooked by everyone. Why do I say this? Becasue the kid screamed and then after the real fright had passed he simply cried dejectedly... instead of becoming angry at the rude joke.
Secondly we see a child who is well fed, not nervous of the person who is filming ( the "dad" to many of you), and in an obviously middleclass home. Please note the lack of facial bruising.... hence a fairly well treated child, in a fairly average home.

I can't believe that people think that this is just a harmless prank. That poor child was scared out of his wits. I disagree with the comment that this will make him a stronger person and that over time it will help him to stay calm in another frightening situation. The reason we feel fear is a self preservation factor...fight or flight, it is not something that we can control and to unnecessarily expose a child to this form of experience is repulsive.
