I agree with most of u guys... first off, this thing is pretty cool, i wouldn't be surprised if in a year or so, theyve gotten it down to something way more intimidating, and a year after that even more, and more, and more... untill indeed you get an awesome fighting-monster. But this is just not cool. It is starting to get intimidating indeed. I dont wanna get into doomsday predictions, but we'd better all start praying to god that those things never get outta control... we'd be dead before we'd realize it! :P

I am American - but originally my family came down from Italy and Germany - so since they came to America, I am able to do what I want within the law to be a billionaire - so if you're in a country or wherever that doesn't allow you to do such a thing - then who's the smarter person? - obviously my family, because they made a choice to move here.
politics is politics - some places have it better some places have it worse - no America isn't perfect - but neither is any other place. as far as Americans being stupid.... theres stupid people everywhere. and if you call an american stupid... think about where their ancestors are from... without a doubt PERIOD, they are from somewhere other than AMERICA.

I read that the USA had wasted lots of money recently developing robots to fight, aparently they cost ALOT but were in development and working quite well, dunno if thats intirely true but i can see terminators sometime n the future, hollywood has had it right all these years.....

just wanted to join the debate...
I basically want to say three things:
1. Technology invented for warfare and space travel can benefit the general populace. Several materials were first developed for these purposes, but are now used in our daily lives, for example Teflon.
2. Japan used to be quite agressive/ warmongering, but after they lost WW2 they were not allowed to have a military force, which ment they could put all their resources into other developments. This turned out to be an advantage financially. Nowadays they are starting to feel a lot of competion from their huge neighbour China.
3. USA is the only country in the world that imports far more than it produces and exports. This is paid for by huge loans from the world bank. This is not a huge problem now, but changes HAVE to be made or USA will become more and more hardpressed financially and if nothing is done will end up bankrupt.
They say that todays science fiction is tomorrows reality. Remember Arnie in terminator? I think hes on his way to a time not so far away...

What he said was about the difference between people in Indian and people in U.S: that in India it is considered cool to be a mathematician / scientist while at the university, while in the U.S. it is considered cool to be a football / b-ball player while at the university. Thus people in different cultures tend to aspire towards different things....

Well they r one of the worlds richest nations. but they dont spend 60 billion dollars yearly on an army and so, they spend it on makin robots:D and other cool stuff:P

from many technological standpoints US is far ahead of japan, who created the first nuclear bomb? Broke the sound barrier? Moon? Stealth aircraft?
Our military aircraft are superior to most if not all...and thats our production aircraft compared to other peoples prototype / concept air craft, and these things you just listed would probably be developed as military tools before commercial. The things we see coming out of the US now are things that were in development 10 years ago or even older in top secret facilities. So technically we have no idea what the US military is actually testing at the moment. All we know is what little material the declassify about things like the Raptor or stealth figher/bomber, or even the new vertical lift aircraft that is being worked on.
You are just talking about war technology, even the moon was to get ideological supremacy over the soviets during the cold war, after their "defeat" on the first satellite in space (Sputnik) and the first astronaut in space (Yuri Gargarine).
At least the japanese are proud of their "civilian" technology, thats the difference that shows their social supremacy over the americans.
Warmongering technology only benefits xenophobic, nationalist bigots. Atleast someone is making technology that anyone can enjoy.
