Electrolysis - Break Water Into Hydrogen And Oxygen

when you burn hydrogen in air there is not enough oxygen avaliable for complete combustion so all you get are flames. To make hydrogen explode you need 1 oxygen for every 2 Hydrogen atoms and guess what water is H2o (2 hydrogens and 1 oxygen). This means that if you collect both gasses in the same container and light it, it will explode. Just be carefull though and wear ear protection because if done right is extremely loud.

nice video, but you didnt mention how chlorine (a very poisenous gas) is generated along with the oxygen and hydrogen. The chlorine comes from the salt and will eventually corrode the copper wires =)

DO NOT USE A METAL CONTAINER BECAUSE U MAY GET ELECTROCUTED. MAKE SAFETY FIRST. treat it like dynamite, make sure everyone is clear.

They use this is water fueled cards. if you do this to your car it should work. but its much more complicated

Instead of collecting gases separately, collect them, it will much more explosives. Also, use Baking Soda instead of salt, as it won't produce chlorine gas, which is quite deadly. Thirdly, instead of using nails, which will also produce rust in the bottle, use something like graphite. You can get graphite from pencils, or if you have carbon batteries lying around. As long as none of the wire touches your water, and only the graphite, you will finish rust free!
