Prevents people from unscrewing the cable tv cord from the wall or back of tv at a hotel. They do this to prevent you from plugging in your own tv tuner and watching what other hotel guests have order via ondemand services. These are typically broadcast at channel 50 or higher and the tv in hotels have these channels locked out so you can't use their tv to watch unless the ondemand allows the tv to tune to that channel.
