Hybridfest, It's Electric

Each year enthusiasts of hybrids and other "green" vehicles gather to swap information and view the latest technology at Hybridfest. Billed as "A Hybrid Electric Car Show and More," the event promotes awareness and understanding of hybrid electric automobiles and increased transportation efficiency. Important issues such as climate change, air quality, and the need for sustainable transportation are addressed by car manufacturers, environmental groups and various vendors. The two-mode hybrid is considered the next step in hybrid evolution, because it has two electric motors. A two-mode Chevrolet Hybrid will be rolling out later this year.
Myths or not, vehicles that have traditional gas engines and electric motors are a growing trend. Although they currently account for only two percent of new cars sold today, that number is expected to quadruple in the next five years. As their popularity increases, nearly every car manufacturer is rolling out new vehicles. General Motors, Toyota and Ford are already testing plug-in hybrids which allow you to charge your vehicles battery at home, so it can run on its electric charge longer and use even less gas.
