    She, being an oceanic research student, knew the danger of swimming in those waters while on her period. Sad but true, women have a disadvantage, as sharks have a sense for blood, that any tampon on the market today can’t mask from them.

                  Seen the original footage on a TV documentary. The girl survived the attack, at the time the docu was aired she was walking on crutches while having a prosthetic leg built and adjusted for her. If I recall well she was living in Seattle at the time.

                    Sharks aren't as bad as they seem. Shark attacks are really rare, and in this case, the poor girl happened to be swimming above the most dangerous, the White Shark. And yes, as someone already said, sharks were in this planet thousands of years before dinosaurs! Any other type of shark would only attack if provoqued or if you have bad luck. And is sad that people like this chinacockney think is good if we finish with all sharks. In that case, lets kill every living thing potencially harmful (including other humans which, I can assure you, are more often more dangerous than sharks)

                                        She did survive the attack....did lose her leg however she is able to get around with a fake leg these days. She eventually got married and seems to lead a pretty normal life. What she did say about that day was that she wasn't that strong of a swimmer was very tired and by the time people were yelling shark it was just 2 late

                                                NO sea creature, never mind a white shark, could survive in the sea waters that roll into my town: The Irish sea is freezing! I was pushed in off the rocks once by a 'good friend' and nearly turned blue !! I could'nt swim for the shock. Mind you i told a lie above: I said no sea creature could survive but i did see a crab about 6 months ago on the beach but even it looked cold ! I have more chance of being attacked by the dog next door with it's endless growls and snarls when i pass: it does'nt like me at all.
