1: This was a SHOCK for this person! I mean think of that! You are swimming in the sea and suddenly you hear screaming. A Shark. You try to escape but the shark´s fast: 60 km/h!!!!! And then it bites of your leg! I think she thought she was dead!!!! :(
2: Sharks have a sense for blood, but not for human blood!

apparently sharks attack us cause we look like seals but she was wearing a swin suit so her bare legs were showing and seals dont have that coloured skin. sharks have been around for hundreds of years i think they know what a human looks llike now.

Sharks aren't as bad as they seem. Shark attacks are really rare, and in this case, the poor girl happened to be swimming above the most dangerous, the White Shark. And yes, as someone already said, sharks were in this planet thousands of years before dinosaurs! Any other type of shark would only attack if provoqued or if you have bad luck. And is sad that people like this chinacockney think is good if we finish with all sharks. In that case, lets kill every living thing potencially harmful (including other humans which, I can assure you, are more often more dangerous than sharks)

youll get bit. live in the woods eventually you will run into wolves or bears. go into the water eventually youll run into a shark or jelly fish (they are deadly too) go for a drive one day get into a deadly car accident. basically its too many people getting in too may places, eventually youll run into something that can or will kill you.
when she was swimming she looked like a turtle swimming and it was hungry. and they like turtles

Why do we put up with this S**t we (H**o sapiens) rule the world ..for better or worse .. but we do .... we got rid of all the animals that effected us some thousands of years ago ... and we still seem to survive without them ..... fisheries throughout the world are diminishing ... sharks eat fish ..so less sharks more fish .... and like one of the comments, which I totally agree with ..tell this poor girl about the odds!

I have stood on my patio at pinnacle port near panama city florida early in the morning,and seen sharks swimming in the surf within just a few feet of early
morning swimmers and they never even knew they were there.
Really Scary.

I remember seeing this footage on a video called "Faces of Death." But on that video it showed her leg and her going into shock. Scary...

that happened i take it the women survived i would never go swimming in the middle of the ocean cause you always know theres something out there my husband wants me to to go in a shark cage but after seeing that i dont think i will.

She did survive the attack....did lose her leg however she is able to get around with a fake leg these days. She eventually got married and seems to lead a pretty normal life. What she did say about that day was that she wasn't that strong of a swimmer was very tired and by the time people were yelling shark it was just 2 late

Its just that by the time the shark figures out your human, you have lost a limb or your life.

Thats why you can never give a white shark a name like "Mr Nibbles".

you have a better chance of winning the lottery than being attacked by a shark. Great white shark attacks are some of the rarest you'ra more likely to get attacked in shallow water by a bull shark.
