How to add or replace the sound to your videos using only free software: VirtualDub, LAME ACM MP3 codec (or any other MP3 codec), any audio editing/conversion software.
A few observations: the new sound must be in WAV format. The compression settings (like 44100 Hz and Stereo) must match the sound settings (you can use the Audio > Conversion menu to set the same figures).
