  • R U SERIOUS

Yeah because your attacker will stand there and allow you to complete the move as each step requires him to stand still. Watch it again and see how the "attacker" just stands there. C'mon man!!!!!

    • Looks like just a promo video

IMHO this seems to be just a prom vid, not intended to full on teach the techniques.

Having been a part of several defensive tactics classes and martial arts trainings, it is my experience that learning a technique starts with a "static" attacker, and progresses eventually to full speed and movement.

To properly learn any technique there are usually 5 stages of learning, Pattern, Technique, Timing, Power, and Speed... If this was supposed to be a demo of the final product of training in a techinique then I would echo the "C'mon man"... however it seems that most of this was shot in the first stages of teaching.

    • Yea man

Although i am not a martial art expert but though several years of practicing experiance, i must disagree that stationay targets are useless. It is useful in building fountation and learning the basics of reaction. I mean you can't expect a practitioner to start learning the moves on a moving target right?

As a person practice a move on a dummy mutiple of time, his mind and body will be trained to react the exact manner when an attacker attack the person in a particular manner. Some would call it muscle memory or watever it is. And i found it very true when learning martial arts.

    • Totally Serious....

.... Have trained in Ryoshintoryu some years ago, not my favorite but can say its a solid style. Most attackers wont just stand there... this is true, however in most systems like this the first one or two movements are designed to knock out or take away the opponents ability to attack (generally by breaking something), anything after this is good practice for worst case situations.

    • it's just training

they are shown the techniques slowly... if the attacker doesn't just stand there they don't have effect.
but in real life, if the bodyguard is a good one, this techniques are done very fast and the attacker doesn't have time to react.

  • very good

as a bouncer i use alot of his methods only without the weapons and the person just standing there is for demonstration only. youwill besuprised how easy it works

    By rebelbrett410 1186505231
  • some of its OK

the biggest issue i see is that you have to be perfect with this or else your attacker will see your aggressiveness and kill you..in the gun take away you NEED to get control of the weapon and/or arm of the attacker...not just HOPE you can knock it out of his hand with some quick move. I find CQB to be better at this...however I was impressed with some of their techniques
