    i have a very good .avi about 300mb... in russian... but the video is exiciting and very interesting.

    This is called systema, I've been to a few training sessions in Manchester (uk). It is a russian military martial art which is quite unknown, the training you see there is trying different things to see what would potentially work in a real life scenario, although I havn't done gun work, I have done knife training with these people. There is some very interesting idea's within this martial art and I suggest people have a google to see what they can dig up, but this is not a martial art for fairy's. Knife training at higher level is done with real blades, beginner's classes with often involve rolling on hard wooden surface's, and the instructor's chasing you with stick's to see how you react to combat situation. There is also fighting in car's, in the dark, against multiple opponents, with or without weapons (usually you are without). And press-ups, on your knuckles, while the rest of the class kick you in the side.

    It is definatly worth it if you can find a class near to you though.

    I'm not trained in self - defense, but I did notice a few things in this video. For starters, these guys are ALL wearing T-shirts and tennis shoes. Also, did you not notice the word "HAPPY" so prominently displayed on the wall, written in English? It's just some guys playing around. They're not Russian, and they're not soldiers. Come on, folks. Try to be more observant!!!

  • Practicality?

    I'm sure these are combat-tested techniques, and I'm not slamming them on their technique or moves. Granted, I've never been in the military, never had any self-defense classes, or even had the luxury of being held hostage in a chair with a gun being pushed in my face. However, think about it; if you were kidnapped or taken hostage and put on a chair for interrogation or what have you, don't you suppose you'd be tied up, rendering your arms and legs useless? Isn't it convenient for this guy in the chair to have the use of both arms AND both legs completely free? If I'm ever kidnapped, I hope my kidnappers or interrogators are nice enough not to tie me up.

      this is more for a situation where someone comes at you when you aren't standing as most self defence techniques assume both parties are standing. like if you're sittingand someone busts in and pulls a gun in your face before you can move, not if you've already been tied up.

      I know you're just joking around, but I still have to point this out. Would a geography class really delve into the industrial and economic strengths or weaknesses of a country? None of the two I've taken have. We studied where the country was in relation to the other countries around it, what the major cities were, major waterways, terrain type, etc. We never really looked into the commercial products the country produced.
