Red Arrows

Stuff your pride and keep it to yourself. Anyone comparing and bragging about hwo is better is just trying to hard to prove something. I've seen the Blue Angels and they are a fantastic show. This is the first time I've seen the Red Arrows and I thought it was a fantastic display. You know what's sad is the only people who lack repsect is us while the pilots from both all countries acknowledge and respect the skill and courage it takes to do this.

Im not takin side cause god damn i love you Yanks but you,ve got to give a point to little old Britian there history is amazin they owned 90% of the sea once aswell as nearly every country on the planet and lets not forget they aint really any bigger than Florida.
Ok yeah America is probley more powerful than Britian at this stage of history, But when Britian was great she was great and now like every thing she got old and has settled down to live her life in peace.......
So yeah America probley is a more powerful country but dont forget your young and would you really hit an old women specially when that old women technoly is your Nan.......... LOL

Red Arrows are most definitely the best display team out now. I also enjoy watching the Blue Eagles. (A helicopter display team) I think they are french. Very entertaining.

Yup these guys are gr8, ive seen these guys at an airshow and they come withing like 3 foot of each other going rele fast and upside down. i dont care what you all think, these guys rock.!!!!!!

They are awesome! Great clip. Really enjoyed it. I've been lucky enough to see their display a few times now. (I live in Australia but travel to the UK) and will never miss an opportunity to see them perform. They are brilliant. :))

I live in Lincoln, UK and the Red Arrows are based about 12 miles away at RAF Conningsby. See them practice from my bedroom window there truly are the best in the world.

personaly i dnt think it matters what plane you fly i think its down to the pilots at the end of the day.

Do you know what guys does it really matter who is the best. At the moment from what i have seen from the comments on here then most of you look like a couple of kids..both countries are great. I went to america about a year ago and the place is fantastic. I would love to live there i really would the food is better, quality of life is better to. when i got there they are very friendly, helpful. i mean every word i say US. but wouldn't life be better if we all just said lets be friends. If we can't do that even how are we surpose to defend the world. hatred gets no one nowhere! So do the right thing!

The pilots change every 3 years, at a RAF school. They fly a hawk, they are highly skilled and train for around 5-10 years

I respect all of them no matter what country! they all show skill....be it the reds the frecci tricollari the blue angels...all of them have plus points maybe the fact they are all very very good at what they do!...by the way the person who wondered about the blue eagles helicopter display team..they are british.

Im American and I have no problem with British people... Theyre Clean, Nice, Funny and they speak english... However I do hate French people, they're Dirty, Stinky annoying and their language pisses me off to no end.

That last part where they came together was breathing and really cool I think the it was one of them in taining that crashed into the world trade center :)

blue angels are much better i think they have been in eindhoven holland and they really where awesome to watch red arrows where there to also awesome but blue angels a little bit more...

my dad was an air force brat and ive seen plenty of airshows. frankly any stunt team is pretty incredible (even the germans and yes i am taking ramstein into consideration) the one country who i really want to see do an airshow is israel, i mean aside from the kind they did to eygpt in 1967, or iraq when they took out that reactor. cause really israel does have the best piolts. (yes i know i cant spell) i mean an israeli managed to land an F-15 after one of the wings got knocked off, thats pretty friggin impressive. unfortunatly the israelis don't do airshows. oh well

If you want to see the red arrows at their best then come to the lowestoft air show. It is a 2 day event and the red arrows are there both days. I think it is being held just off lowestoft beach on the 28th and 29 th July 2006. You can see all the stuff the red arrows did here as well as other supersonic planes, fighter jets and helicopters.

As for the old arg ument that we would all be talking german if it wasnt for the yanks inter vention,look at it this way.
if britain had`nt held out alone, and kept the germans fighting, they (the germans) would have been able to concentrate on russia with all the time in the world,on a single front.
They would have conquered europe and probably paused for a while, developing the nuclear weapons they were working on, and combined them with the v2 rockets they invented and bombed the us into submission ,so we would all be talking german.
As mentioned earlier it was only that the japanese attacked the us that america entered the war, even then it wasnt until the germans declared war on the states that the us reciprocated.

At the end of the day it's just Americans can't take the fact that somewhere someone in the world is better then them.

i have had the opportunity to fly with RED-1 the leader of the red arrows in formation. i can say this about them. they are the best they use a trainer because they are HARDER to fly than a service fighter. they are so to train the the pilots. and about america not losing a war we could send four (4) elite SAS soilders and destablse the entire country before they are compromised and people who disagree i have a fact for you. delta force members (yank version of the SAS) need to train to pass the SAS selection course no exageration we have the best in military power

I am a British person but disagree with some others. America are a well organised and more advanced country than britain. (Except for the violence ;-) ) Although, I don't think that The Red Arrows will ever be beating for entertainment. America have more advanced weapons and aircraft. But we are maintaining and producing more and more advanced technologies. E.i. Concorde and Eurofighter

Sorry I was wrong about the g force. But they are flying trainers, very tiny , and not real war planes. I did bit of research and would still love to see them in person. Cheers. Yankee out. They pull 7 g's on the Vixen break.

I would love to see their actual show. A video or better yet in person. Please send them across the pond once in a while. I've seen the Snowbirds and the Thunderbirds, but for pure precision I doubt anyone could beat the Blue Angels. I've seen them many, many times in San Diego. They fly every year at Miramar MCAS, (formerly home to Top Gun flight school). Contrary to another commenter they do not fly 7 inches apart, but the diamond formation does fly overlapped 3 feet apart. And no other demo team in the world does a "dirty roll" in formation. And I doubt if the other teams pull 7 g's in the turns in front of the crowd right on the deck. There's nothing like driving on the 52 freeway and looking over and seeing the diamond formation flying right next to you practicing for the weekend show. The opposing solos are also quite spectacular. Anyway I'd love to see the Arrows in person. Please send them on over. The Miramar airshow is usually in October. Yankee says "Cheers".

The Red Arrows are accepted as the best display team in the world,by the other display teams.
I see Americans are adding knee jerk comments that the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds are better. Well according to the Blue Angels and Thunderbird pilots the Red Arrows are better. Correct me if i'm wrong but they were also the first display team as well. And the Royal Air Force was the first air force. Quality not Quantity is the name of the game.

I think,if im correct the jets are hawks.The Blue angles have F-18C jets that are better in mobility and stability then hawks.F-18 are usually used as air-to-ground jets (bombers).

Flying 10 Hawks in 16 different formations takes balls and skill. To a degree that ALL others aspire too, thats why the Red Arrows are the legends they now are. Having seen the Thunderbirds and The Blue Angels..... you just cant help but think, well they are good..only to be feel the show aint complete till the Red Arrows show 'em how to do it properly!!!! (As for U.S Top Guns...... .when it comes to A10 tank busters.. .yeah..they're S**t hot, at friendly fire!!)

just checked out a history of the red arrows i was given, and there is something in there about the blue angels or thunderbirds being shocked that the red arrows were prepared to 2 shows in one day - miles apart!! that was when they did a tour in america a few years ago!!

i also see them every year at the sunderland airshow - the biggest free air show in europe - where i live and they never cease to amaze. the blue angels and thunderbirds have never bothered showin their faces to my knowlage!! wonder if they are afraid of losing face!

Not only do our pilots make the long trip to train at 'Top Gun' we consistently kick your ass. Look it up mate - the facts are there and they speak for themselves. Make careful note of the vintage year when Cdr 'Sharky' Ward made you all look like the 'yee haa-ing' muppets you really are. Perhaps you might also like to watch Jon Simpson (a BBC reporter) getting shot up by Yank ground attack aircraft in Iraq - or just google 'US friendly fire' and check out some of the 32,000,000 entries.

The Blue Angels and Thunderbirds truly are way better. Why do you think other countries send their best pilots to our flight schools (Top Gun, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, etc)? And for anyone that thinks these guys fly closer than the Blue Angels... they're wrong. 4 inches apart. That's how close the Angels and T-Birds get to each other. The guy that said they are the "only ones to take off in formation" is incorrect. The T-birds have been boarding and taking off in formation for as long as they've been around. As far as better fighters go, the US has THE BEST fighters. Hands down. There is no denying that. The US has the best weapons development programs around, etc. As far as watching shows goes, I'll sit and watch my brother jump with the Black Knights team until he can jump with the Golden Knights when he graduates. (He's already been picked for the team, but can't compete until he graduates...)

I'm lucky to live near enough to farnborough to see them every other year (they do the farnborough air show and the paris air show in alternating years)
I only went to see the farnborough air show once and i missed the red arrows beucase the lineup changed and they were first on in the day, but i got a pretty god view of the display from my house
