I use some of my techniques to completely disassemble electronics without damaging the tamper seal or the parts... In this video, I used a brand new HP IPAQ 2410 with #5 Torx driver (8 screws), small phillips screwdriver (2 screws), and flat blade exacto knife dipped in alcohol for the "tamper proof" seal. (you can apply these techniques to other electronic products that you wish to modify or repair)
DISCLAIMER: NO PARTS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO - THEY WERE REASSEMBLED AND WORKED JUST FINE. Oh, my son (10 at the time) video'd me - thank you Austin!!!
REPAIRS. If you break your LCD screen, it is not covered in warranty - You buy a cheap PDA that has a good screen and swap parts. It's not just about the tamper seal, but if you need to replace a part you broke while under warranty, you have a chance to keep from voiding your warranty. Also, I modified these PDAs for a customer - I don't just do these things for fun. - Electronic Tech Support
By zx7r 1186538148Thanks for sharing your knowledge of this stuff with us bro.
By stiets 1193792943I like to fix things but if it is still under warranty why would you want to mess with it. If you are not allowed to tamper with it that should mean it still has warranty no???
