Don't sit for hours with a fishing rod. Catch a fish the easy way. Make this fish trap out of a plastic bottle and let the fish catch themselves. Simply bait it and throw it in the more... water, after a few hours or overnight pull it in.

Nice one
I used to do that with a jar and a plastic bag. Using a wire, I wrapped the plastic bag tight, creating a funnel inside the jar. Then placed the bait and placed the jar under so branches in the water. Very similar technique.

I didn't think of making a video out of it though. :)

yes, it works
I used to use this as a mouse trap. Yes it does work as a simple fish trap, but if there are any land locks out there, DON'T USE THIS IN LAKES. lol. Fish and Game gave a nice fine for trying this. Cool vid though.

- one way valve
  the fingers of the cone can flex open a bit to allow the fish to go in but will edges will make it very hard for the fish to exit. The opening acts rather like a one way valve.
  
  Traps like this work on some species of fish but tend to be specific to certain sizes of fish. If the fish is too large it can't get in and if the fish is really small it can swim out if it gets lucky. Still, in a survival situation it might get you a meal of crayfish or some small bait fish.

This trick also works really well for......
Catching bees. do the same trick without the flaps. just fill it with pop or sugar water, and they go right for it

This trick will work. I didn't try it but I saw some people using a similar trick.
the hole has to be on top. fish can't swim upwords so they can't get out.
What I saw it was a plastic bucket with a cloth tied on top (like a drum). they opened a small hole (the same size with the one in the bottle) they put a bait inside and a few hours later the bucket had 7-8 alive fish inside.

Cool...an adaptation from an asian bambo...
It will work if
1) The size is 7 times bigger - to catch big fishes
2) The sides have gaps to allow water to flow

...otherwise it is a good effort.

i remember
when i was at this pool at Corpus christi(i think it was Corpus, i 4got) and water from this lake would come in and thats where all the water for the pool came from, and in the kids area there would be these big schools of these small fish and i tried to make a trap outa a bottle...........but it didnt work ='(
